Mekaish Plates began operating in 1994 in the Western Cape as a reseller of low and unusual car registration number plates via the motor dealer network. The Plates division then spearheaded the launch of Personalised and Special number plates in South Africa and won the sought after marketing tender in the Gauteng Province in 2000 which has to date been a hugely successful money spinner for the coffers of the Department of Transport.

Personalised Number Plates are now a familiar sight across South Africa and continue to grow in popularity and charm.
